Compare Lagos Life housing by its weekly commitment as well as the room grid. Mushin’s Face-me-I-face-you has ₦2,400 base rent, a 6 × 6 grid, and a three-guest limit. Yaba’s Self-contain has ₦6,000 rent, a 7 × 7 grid, and five guests. Lekki’s Mini-flat reaches ₦17,000 rent and a 10 × 10 grid. More space raises the recurring cost even after the move-in payment is finished.

Each city has its own housing ladder. The cheapest listed ordinary rooms are Mushin in Lagos, Rumuokoro in Port Harcourt at ₦2,600 weekly, and Kubwa in Abuja at ₦2,800. Use the home in the city where you plan to work and train. Moving for a cheaper base rent can still involve a journey and a different local work route.

What the starter furniture lets you do

Mushin’s new-start layout includes a Foam Mattress, Transistor Radio, Kerosene Stove, cooler, Water Drum, chair, bucket, and toilet. Those objects give you sleeping, cooking, washing, entertainment, and bathroom actions. The radio also provides Dance to Burna, and the stove provides Cooking training through recipes. A starter room can support a useful daily routine before you buy skill equipment.

Yaba starts with a Spring Bed and several of the same basics. Lekki starts with a Gas Cooker, fridge, sofa, TV, shower, and toilet. Some of those upgrades need electricity, so a richer starter layout still has operating conditions. Compare the function you need with what is already placed, especially before buying a second bed or stove.

Starter money and furniture describe character creation. The ordinary Mushin setting gives ₦16,000 cash; LAPO adds its loan, while Nepo has different starting terms. Moving into a home later does not award its creation cash again. Your owned furniture follows the move and storage rules below.

How much does moving house cost?

Moving house in Lagos Life normally costs three weeks of the destination’s current rent: two weeks in advance and one week as an agent fee. At Yaba’s ₦6,000 base rent, that is ₦12,000 advance plus ₦6,000 fee, totaling ₦18,000. At Lekki’s ₦17,000 base, the same calculation totals ₦51,000. Read the final housing quote when current pricing changes a base amount.

1. Clear outstanding rent first. Arrears block a normal move, even when you can afford the new home’s headline charge.
2. Finish an active shift or wait for your current journey to arrive. Both states block moving.
3. Compare the full move-in quote with cash left after loans, meals, and other unpaid obligations.
4. Confirm the move, then check your balance, destination home, placed furniture, and storage.

The advance covers 14 days. In a budget ending within that covered period, do not add the same destination rent as another unpaid bill. Put the move quote into Other costs in the budget calculator and include any separate obligations once.

Saturday rent, arrears, and background support

Rent collection begins on Saturday from 09:00 in game time. The charge can include rent still owed from earlier collections, so the weekly base price alone may not explain a larger deduction. Keep a note of arrears and read rent notices before spending a wage receipt on furniture.

Nepo’s Daddy normally covers rent. When Daddy debt is active, the player must cover it until that debt is repaid. LAPO has a separate loan obligation; paying rent does not pay the loan. The student Hall of Residence has its own eligibility and ₦1,200 weekly base rent, so it is part of the student route rather than an ordinary rent shortcut.

Where your furniture goes after moving

For a move within the same city, the game keeps owned objects that fit the new layout and packs objects that do not fit into storage. Open Buy → Storage to place those owned pieces without buying them again. A missing laptop from the floor may therefore be stored, rather than lost.

Check usable space and access after placing it. A Laptop Desk occupies 2 × 2 cells; a mattress occupies 1 × 2. A room that contains both can still need rearranging so the Sim reaches each object. Use the placement and blocked-path steps if an action reports furniture in the way.

A home acquired in another city leaves your original city home and its belongings in place. That can leave more than one rent obligation. Check the housing and rent notices for each home and plan the intercity journey separately from the housing purchase.

Mushin, Yaba or Lekki: what does the extra space cost?

Yaba adds 13 grid cells over Mushin, raises weekly base rent by ₦3,600 and allows five guests instead of three. Lekki adds 64 cells over Mushin and raises base rent by ₦14,600. Those added cells still need an open route to the bed, stove and skill equipment.

If your only goal is Charisma training, a 1 × 1 Standing Mirror costs ₦1,700. A Yaba move costs ₦18,000 upfront before that mirror. Moving solves a space or home-choice problem; it does not replace the equipment needed for a skill.

Why is moving house blocked?

Unpaid rent arrears, an active work shift or a journey can block a normal move. Compare the wallet with the full three-week quote, rather than the weekly listing. Student Hall of Residence also has separate eligibility.
